ABOUT OUR TELUGU KSHATRIYAAS
SREE ALLURI SEETHA RAMA RAJU
(MOGALLU-BHIMAVARAM W.G.DIST)
Alluri Sita Rama Raju ( అల్లూరి సీతారామరాజు b. 4 July 1897-d.1924), also known as Aluri Rama Raju, Rama Chandra Raju, and Alluri Seetha Rama Raju, was a young Indian revolutionary during the freedom struggle, and to this day he remains an inspiring role model for those who fight against oppression. His father was from Mogallu village in the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, India and was an official photographer in the central jail at Rajahmundry.Sita Rama Raju was born in Pandrangi,a village near Visakhapatnam which happened to be his mother's native place. Raju led the ill-fated Rampa Rebellion joined by many tribal leaders and their sympathisers in the fight against the British from 1922 to 1923. He was adoringly referred to Manyam Veerudu (Hero of the jungles)by the Telugus
Birth and education
He was born on July 4 1897. He was educated in Kakinada,Tuni and Rama-chandra-puram in the East Godavari district. His father died when Alluri was in elementary school and he grew up in the care of his uncle, Rama Chandra Raju, a Tahsildar in Narsapur. He then studied in Taylor High School, Narsapur. Then, he shifted to Tuni along with his mother, brother and sister, on the transfer of his uncle. He joined Mrs A.V.N. College in Visakhapatnam on September 20, 1912. He dropped out of the college after having failed in the fourth form (Std. IX). While in Tuni, Alluri used to frequent the agency areas of the Visakhapatnam
district and became familiar with the tribal folks.
He was deeply moved by the plight of the tribals, whose rights were infringed upon by the British with the implementation of the Madras Forest Act of 1882 which placed restrictions on their free movement in the forest areas and prevented them from engaging in their traditional Podu (shifting) cultivation, and use of the forest produce for their livelihood. The repressive measures and policies of the British Raj,
coupled with the deeds of the greedy contractors who exploited and oppressed the forced labourers of the hill areas of the Visakhapatnam district, brought Alluri Sita Rama Raju into direct conflict with the bureaucrats and police who supported these contractors. This eventually culminated in the Rampa Rebellion or Rampa Pituri

He is an all-round star––action king and ‘rebel star’ on the
silver screen; a Pole Star on the political horizon; and a hero not only in reel life but also in real life. He is none other than U Krishnam Raju. He achieved what no other film star could ever dream of––being a Minister of State first in the External Affairs Ministry and now in the Defence Ministry. He proved to be the right choice for such an onerous job by virtue of his exceptional qualities and exemplary efficiency at work. Behind this tall, towering and fiery personality is a calm, concerned and genuine human being.
Born in Mogalthuru, a small hamlet of the rich West Godavari district on 20 January, 1950, Krishnam Raju entered the film industry soon after his graduati
on. His very first film––Chilaka Gorinka, directed by Pratyagatma and co-starring Krishnakumari–– bagged the prestigious Silver Nandi Award. Though he entered films as a villain, he metamorphosed into a full-fledged ‘hero’ within a short period. He left his mark as a powerful actor in his 34-year long film career. His persona was so multi-faceted and his talent so exceptional that some roles were actually created for him.
Many in the industry believe that Krishnam Raju alone can suit certain roles. He played a variety of roles in Krishnaveni, Bhaktha Kannappa, Amara Deepam, Mana Voori Pandavulu, Katakatala Rudraiah, Seetha Ramulu, Thrishoolam, Bobbili Bhahmanna, Tandra Paparayudu, etc. He could enact a pious role as elegantly as he did that of an angry young man or a historical character. Recognition for his histrionics came in the form of the President’s Award and Filmfare Award for Amaradeepam and Mana Voori Pandavulu.
Later, he entered the film production field and brought out many successful films under the banner Gopikrishna. He also produced a Hindi film Dharmadhikari starring stalwarts such as Dilip Kumar. He is widely considered as a master producer. Krishnam Raju is an optimist to the core. He is untiring in his pursuits and accepts success and failure with equanimity. In his long journey from Mogalthuru village to the national capital, he always exhibited dedication, honesty and hard work in whatever work he took up. No wonder he has a huge fan following as much in politics as in the film industry.
Krishnam Raju is a versatile personality. Not many people may know that he was once a journalist; he worked as a reporter for the Andhra Patrika. Apart from producing films, he also turned industrialist with his Gopi Krishna Granites, through which he pro
vided employment to hundreds of people. He passionately participates in many social service programmes. Krishnam Raju played a crucial role in launching the open-air theatres in the towns of Vijayawada, Eluru and Nellore. He was a hero in real life too; he stood by the needy people and donated huge amounts to those afflicted by famine, natural calamities, disturbances, and so on. The film industry recognised his leadership qualities by unanimously electing him thrice as president of the Cine Artistes Society./p>
Krishnam Raju’s shift from filmdom to politics also left commendable records. He contested an unsuccessful election in 1992 for the Narasapuram Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket. After a brief hibernation, he rejoined politics, accepting an invitation from the Bhara
tiya Janata Party. He won the 1998 Lok Sabha election from Kakinada. He set a record with a thumping majority of over 165,000 votes––the maximum majority as compared to any of the 42 other constituencies in AP–– which ensured him a berth at the Centre. He was in the advisory committees of the Information & Broadcasting, and Commerce Ministries during 1998-99.
Born in the motherland of Alluri Sitarama Raju, the great freedom fighte
r, Krishnam Raju continues to forge ahead with his lasting smile and service, daring and dedicated as Alluri himself. At 61, Krishnam Raju rejuvenates himself with twice-a-day yoga session. He is into transcendental meditation and says that with meditation one can be as active with just two hours of sleep instead of the usual eight hours. He believes that the body is a slave to the mind and that no medicine is more powerful than a controlled mind. He is a voracious reader and takes keen interest in spiritual writings.

(Ravi Teja) Bhoopatiraju Ravishankar Raju garu Ravi Teja (రవి తేజ) born January 26, 1968) is an Indian Telugu film actor. Personal lifeRavi Teja alias Bhoopatiraju Ravishankar Raju was born in Jaggampeta, East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. He is the eldest of three sons to his father, Bhoopatiraju Rajgopal Raju, a pharmacist and mother Rajyalaxmi Bhoopatiraju, a home maker. Both his brothers are now actors as well. Bhoopatiraju Raghunath Raju aka Raghu has also played the lead in a few B-Grade Telugu films and Bhoopathiraju Bharatraj Raju shared space with Ravi Teja in a few of his films and now plays negative roles in Tollywood. Before starting his career in Tollywood, Ravi Teja spent most of his childhood in Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai and Bhopal. Later on he moved to Vijayawada along with his family and joined Siddhartha Degree College to pursue his Bachelors in Arts. Half way through his graduation, he left to Chennai on October 2nd 1988 to join Films. On May 26aere 2002 he married his now wife, Kalyani who hails from Ganapavaram, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. On June 6, 2003, he was first blessed with a daughter, Mokshadha and on July 28, 2006, his son, Manit, was born.[1] ChildhoodRavi Teja spent most of his childhood in North India. His father, Bhoopathiraju Rajgopal Raju, a very ambitious man, went through several transfers and took up new opportunities resulting in Ravi Teja's family having to travel a lot throughout India. Even as a child, Ravi was fascinated with cinema and his icon till date remains the Legend Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. Several times he would see Amitabh Bachchan's movies and re-enact them at home. In one such attempt, when he was just 5 years old, he set ablaze the couches of his living room when his mother was out shopping and put both his kid brothers in between the 'fire wall' to rescue them. Punished of course was he for this but the passion in his heart had for films kept growing by the day. In his movie, Venky, he portrayed his imation of Amitabh Bachchan. At age 11, he tried to run away from his home in Jaipur to Mumbai so he could join Bollywood and become as famous as Amitabh Bachchan. All his juvenile attempts to join cinema were strictly kept at bay by his family. Later the family moved to Vijayawada and he joined the Siddharatha Degree College to pursue his Bachelors in Arts. Early careerHis interest in films brought him into the film industry. In the beginning, he worked in both Television and Films as an Assistant Director but continued in feature films after that. He worked in several Bollywood as well as Tollywood projects including Prathibandh, Aaj Ka Goondaraj and Criminal. He managed to do a few small time roles in Bollywood as well. He acted as one of Chiranjeevi's friends in Aaj Ka Goondaraj. Ravi Teja joined Krishna Vamsi as an assistant director for Ninne Pelladatha. He also did a petty role in the film. Following Ninne Pelladatha, Krishna Vamsi gave him a well deserved break by casting him as one of the Lead actors in Sindhuram. Though he got a good name for Sindhuram, his career did not profit much from that. After that he played second lead in few films like Pattukondi Chuddam, Premaku Velayara and Padutha Thiyaga etc. His first film as a lead actor was Neekosam, 1999 directed by Sreenu Vaitla Career SuccessIt was Nee Kosam directed by a debut director Srinu Vaitla, that gave Raviteja the much needed impetus. He bagged an award for his performance in Nee Kosam. His secondary roles continued again with films like Annayya, Budget Padmanabam, Tirumala Tirupati Venkatesa and Ammayi Kosam. Raviteja got his big break with Itlu Sravani Subramanyam. Puri Jagannath, who was desperately looking to establish himself in the industry, though his debut film Badri with Pawan Kalyan was a hit, paired up with Ravi Teja to deliver Itlu Sravani Subramanyam. The movie was well received by the audiences. That was the turning point in his career. Vamsi, who was planning his comeback innings, directed RaviTeja in Avunu Validharu Ishtapaddaru. It definitely welcomed Vamsi back into the industry and added another hit to Ravi Teja's kitty. Meanwhile, his friend Poori Jagannaath, who made the biggest hit of the year in Kannada, Appu, decided to remake the film in Telugu with Ravi Teja. This time he wanted to produce the film too. Idiot came out and set a new image for Ravi Teja as a ragamuffin and mass hero. With all three of these films being super hits, he came to be known as the Hat-Trick hero. The character Chanti clicked and was a rage in Andhra Pradesh. His famous line "Chantigadu local" is still mouthed by many youngsters over Andhra Pradesh. In 2003, Ravi Teja played the lead in Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, which became one of the biggest hits of the year. The year 2006 has been very special to Ravi Teja as he gave one of his career's biggest hit Vikramarkudu, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, despite the flop Shock, a Ram Gopal Varma production.
